The Catcher In The Rye

             Fragment 2.
This fragment show that he was beaten by Maurice. Right before this fragment there is told that Holden had a hooker over at his room, because he wanted to loose his virginity. The price they (Holden and Maurice) agreed was five dollars, but when the hooker shows up she wants ten. Later Maurice comes back and beats Holden to get the ten dollars. I think this fragment is important because here he gets disappointed again because he was deceived. Here he can see that humanity isn't honest and he becomes more mature from it.
The last extreme situation is at Mr Antolini's house. As you can see in the fragment below, Mr Antolini is touching him while he is sleeping. He thought pretty well about Mr. Antolini so he gets really disillusioned. So practically the last person of whom he thought to be phoney turns out to be so.
             .
             Fragment 3.
44a) Find a fragment that refers to the title. Explain the title.
I couldn't find the fragment anymore, but there is a fragment that a boy is singing that sentence. When Phoebe corrects Holden that the line isn't "If a body catches a body in the rye" but "If a body meets a body in the rye" he tells her that he is imagining children playing in a rye-field, while he is standing at the edge of a nearby cliff so he can catch them if they fall, and send them back to the field. Therefor he is the Catcher in the rye. The falling here is fictionally and it stands for growing up. He sends them back to the rye-field and prevent them for the evil of growing up.
44b) Think of two other appropriate titles for the book and add why they are appropriate.
 An appropriate title for the book cou be: Holden Caulfield, because he is the maincharacter of the book, and the whole story is about him.
 Antoher appropriate title for the book could be: Runaway, because the story is all about a boy running away from his school, and hiding for his parents.
54a) To what extent is the outsider personally responsible for the position he is in? To what extent is he not?.
