Terrorism Should Be Dealt with Sternly.
What should we as a nation do if terrorists attack us? Should we do nothing at all and let others pick on us like swollen vegetables or should we prove to them that we"re not easily defeated? Recently, on September 11, 2001, our nation was attacked by terrorism; it is sad but true, thousands of innocent lives were taken away by the cruel act of terrorism. I was devastated when I overheard the news while I was having lunch at San Jose State University. Therefore, terrorism should be dealt with sternly. .
First reason why we should be strict on terrorism would be that it"d warn our enemies that we"re not easily defeated and that we"re capable of fighting back. We would only be taken for granted by our enemies if we don't fight back because our opposing country (as of today, Afghanistan) would assume that we are a weak nation and that we"re not brave enough to fight back. Speaking from my past experience with my next- door neighbor who had always left his dog's waste and many other junks of his on my lawn and that just pissed me off. To some extent, I've always kept that anger aside because he seemed like someone who could do some severe damage to me. Somehow, one day, I managed to speak up to him to show that I was not afraid of who he is and what damage he could do to me. I knew I had to fight this fight or else the problem would persist again. So, I told him to stop and told him alternatives rather than dumping junks on my lawn and warned him of the consequences if the problem was to continue. Ever since then, my lawn was left alone, free of debris. Although my example has got nothing to do with terrorism but it is somewhat relevant towards my point. The point here is that terrorism should be dealt with sternly and by doing so, we must fight back and set an example for others to see that we"re not easily defeated.
Secondly, being more cautious and careful about terrorism, our nation would be at a lesser risk of terrorists" attacks.
