Socialization


For as many different rules there are as many different disciplinary actions. .
             Education and social class go hand in hand. If one is poor they will go to a poor school, if one is rich they will go to private school. Each teaches the same basic things, reading, writing, and math, but a child in a poor school may also learn more about crime and drugs, where a child in a private school will learn things that are more associated with having money, life horseback riding, or how one should act in social situations that the poor children will never find them selves at, like a coming out party for a young girl. .
             Money, and social class are very closely related. One's social class is usually determined by the amount of money they posses. Families with more money have a higher standard of living then those who don't. They can afford more objects then those who don't, thus putting them in a higher social class. .
             Religion follows some class lines, Baptists are usually lower class, Methodists are middle class, and Episcopalians are more upper middle class and upper class. Lower class people tend to join sects rather then churches, they provide a world of meaning and social identity, also they provide people to turn to when troubled, they find mind meaning in a meaningless world, and stability. Churches, attract the upper and middle classes because they support there world views and values, where as sects tend to reject there world views.
             Classism, there are many different classes in America, upper-upper class, lower-upper class, upper middle class, lower middle class, upper-lower class, and lower-lower class. Everyone belongs to one of the classes, and ones membership to a class is defined by ones income, which is also determined by ones job.
             Gender.
             Roles, gender roles are defined very early in childhood, little girls are to play with dolls and pretend to be running a house, while boys are encouraged to do more physical activities like football, or to play games like cops and robbers, boys are also encouraged to get dirty and go farther from home while girls are told to stay clean and stay were they can be seen.
