4. The way one person feels about themselves is there self-esteem. Many different things will or can affect your self-esteem your classmates, teachers, parents, and friends are all big influences on the way we feel about our self. When someone is subjected to sexual harassment they may have a lower self-esteem. If while walking or riding your bike to school you are sexually harassed and are put down then your self-esteem can be affected greatly. Having low self-esteem can be put with anxiety. Anxiety can be associated with nervousness, lack of appetite and sleep, headaches, and not being able to perform the tasks at 100%. If your stress is too much to handle people may try to commit suicide or even do kill them self. Some other affects can be anger and hostility (Nash 75).
5. Grieving may also be experienced while being sexually harassed some of the grieving that may occur is shock, denial, and fear which is when you do not want to show your emotions, refusing to acknowledge what really happened and being afraid of being alone. The next grieving that may occur is anger which is wanting to get even or revenge, telling the incident, feeling like you have no power and having a low self-esteem. The last grieving that may occur is resolution which is accepting that the incident, happen into your life and where the harassment is not as much dominant to the person (Nash 77).
6. There are many different types of sexual harassment. You can be sexually harassed either verbal or physical, certain jokes can be considered sexual harassment, comments on someone's body or what they are wearing, threats about how they look or act are all forms of verbal harassment. Physical harassment can be cornering, stroking, grabbing, pinching, hugging, patting, kissing, and bumping (Sirs Online).
7. Bargaining for sexual harassment is known as Quid Pro Quo. This would be considered any sexual advances, requests for sexual favors and any other physical or verbal harassment that are not asked for or wanted.
