Question: Do smokers have a right to smoke when it pollutes the air for them selves or .
Answer: I believe that in restaurants there should be a non-smoking policy all together, due to the fact that even when I am eating, smoke in the environment makes the food taste bad. I do however think smoking should not be outlawed, I just personally think it should be contained to a restricted room in public places and only in the car or in your own personal home. Smoking is for those who choose to smoke and why should our addiction be pushed upon people who are concerned about their health and well-being.
Question: Should non-smokers have to pay the medical expenses of smokers?.
Answer: Yes I do believe that non-smokers should pay the medical expenses for smokers. I have been working in the funeral industry since I have been 13 y/o. I have buried many people that have had lung cancer yet never smoked a day in their life, and yes I have buried the pack a day people that suffered from lung cancer for years before dieing. I believe that cancer to a certain extent is predisposed and have some human genetic traits that factor in. Smoking doesn't help and does cause cancer, however there are people that smoked since they were 14 and died at a nice old age in there 80's and never had cancer. So I believe that if a law were created for non-smokers to not have to pay for smoker's medical expenses it would be a great injustice.
Question: Is it sufficient to tax cigarettes to provide money for universal health care?.
Answer: I don't believe that a law that some of our taxes that we pay on cigarettes would be a bad thing. I think that if smokers would buy cigarettes and some of the money would go to health care, maybe the money could benefit everyone and even maybe with that money a cure for cancer could possibly come from the extra money raised. .
