To me the most important value is all sexual decisions have effects or consequences.
Some content areas that are involved in sexual education are perspectives on human sexuality. The political, legal, social, & educational perspectives on sexuality education is to give a overall understanding of generally what is involved in each area. Female and male sexual anatomy and physiology helps to teach the correct terms and function of the male and female bodies. Conception, pregnancy, and childbirth help to give an understanding of an array of information on, for example various birthing methods to what is infertility.
Some teaching strategies that a sexual educator can use are using approved movies or other media to demonstrate what is being taught in class. Since so many young people gather their understanding of sex from the media the teacher can give the correct information to the student to help dissolve the illusion that is created by the media. Have an open forum approved by the principle and administrator between the students and their parents to help the kids have a comfortable venue to openly talk with their parents about different areas of sex. Have the students keep a journal of questions that they might have pertaining to any subject discussed in class on the topic covered in their sexuality class. Have them hand the notebooks in at the end of the week and on Monday pick a few that catch the teachers attention and answer them in class. After, researching and obtaining the correct answers to their questions so that they receive the most thorough information. .
The target audience should begin at an age were the child can fully understand and handle what is being discussed. I feel there is no specific age to stop learning about sexuality because there is an immense amount of information that can be learned because there is constantly new information being introduced everyday into society pertaining to sexuality.
