Athletics have become more and more competitive each year that most athletes look for that extra edge to get ahead of their competition. In some cases this could be a good thing, but in most cases this turns out to be the downfall of a tremendous amount of athletes. It seems like everywhere you look their is a new type of performance enhancing drug advertised to get athletes attention. It could be steroids, ripped fuel, or andro, which are all types of performance enhancing drugs, some which are legal and illegal in sports. Andro, a more recent popular performance enhancer, came about when Mark Mcguire was found using it the year he hit 70 homeruns. This drug is legal in baseball but is illegal in football. When young college athletes see a professional athlete like Mark Mcguire use a drug like this, it makes them want to go out and use it. In many cases these kids don't know the long term side-effects of these drugs. The most recent drug that has everyone talking about among college athletes is a drug called Creatine. This is a illegal drug in NCAA certified college sports. It is legal however in professional sports. Not many schools test all of their kids though, so a lot of athletes can use this drug without getting caught. Side-effects are not yet determined on this drug, because research is so young. There are still many unanswered questions dealing with creatine, but athletes still continue to use it.
