The Internet can be said to be almost and addiction, leaving social life as a last resort. People go to church less, vote less, discuss government with neighbors and family less, have and organize fewer dinner parties/ get togethers for civic and social purposes. Even fewer citizens are joining voluntary organizations.
.
And all for what? .
A screen that provides interaction through technological themes and topics that most are quite irrelevant and outlandish to what our brains are suppose to be learning. A six year-old child can gain access to pornographic and other explicit websites without even having to look far. Why? Because the Internet is not structured enough as to who can obtain information concerning inappropriate sites to minors and/ or those sites that cause conflict, not only in the social aspect but also in people's personal lives. Nearly every single site made on the Internet (except for those protected by "Net Nanny" or some other net ban program) can be accessible to just about any age, resulting in some of the youngest minds being infiltrated by information that makes some youths turn out the way they do in today's society. The use of the Internet can have strong influences on family communication, depression, stress and loneliness.
So are these changes for the better or worse?.
These are the questions asked by analysts who disagree that the Internet isn't just a tool of social isolation. They are convinced that there are advantages to the changes of computer technology made in today's society. They are convinced that the Internet actually leads to a more and better social relationship by the freedom that they are constrained from, allowing a wider range of information for one's mind to absorb. It allows people to socialize in groups on interest based on socialization, technology and global issues somewhat than beneficial. Some even find that new relationships are made online, often resulting in their meeting each other.
