In this story the reactions and the history of the characters foreshadowed the suspense. Which was planed by the author john Steinbeck to make you think about what was going to happen next. For example how they ran away from weed no one knew exactly why it happened or if it will happen again. With the suspense steinbeck figured out a ways to keep us on the edge of our seats. By having two different characters combine to make what is said to be a family.

I think this is one of the best stories ever written because of the mood that it brings to you. It lets u think about what people had to go threw in the past.
The character lennie was a great character because it combined the feeling and the careness of a mentally challenged man to the world around him.
.
Clinging to each other in their loneliness and alienation, George and his simple-minded friend Lenin dream, as drifters will, of a place to call their own. But after they come to work on a ranch in the Salinas Valley their hopes, like "the best laid schemes o' mice an' men," begin to go awry. .
Lennie - A large, lumbering, child-like migrant worker. Mildly retarded since birth, he is completely dependent on his traveling companion, George, who has been taking care of him since his Aunt Clara died. The two men share a vision of farm that they will own together, a vision that Lennie believes in implicitly. Gentle and kind, Lennie nevertheless does not understand his own strength, and his love of petting soft things--like animals, dresses, and hair--leads to disaster.
This Story was the first story that I have read and like. The language of this story is old and broken because most of these people did not go to school or have studied language. I would recommend anybody and everybody to read this story because it will let you learn about life much more.
