Marijuana

At the age of twenty-one, a person is considered to be entering adulthood. It is the age of consent and the age at which one is allowed to drink alcohol and go to prison. The American government, however, does not think that an adult who is able to make his or her own decisions in life is capable of making a choice about whether or not to stay drug free.
Prohibition of marijuana in 1937 was very reminiscent of the prohibition of alcohol, which led to increase in crime, distrust, and felonies. If the goal of the government is to stop Americans from smoking by banning marijuana, it will turn out just as pointless as keeping America "dry." It took thirteen years, from 1922 to 1930, to realize that the Prohibition Act was a mistake. It is just a matter of time before the realization of the stupidity of marijuana exclusion will hit the nation.
Millions of people die in the country every year. The main "drug" causing death, however, is tobacco. According to the US Centers for Disease Control, from the beginning of 1990 through 1994, 2,153,700 deaths were attributed to smoking: 19.5 percent of all deaths in the time period. In 1996, 110,640 people died from alcohol. Marijuana, on the other hand, has not once shown a sign that it could kill if taken by itself. All the deaths that involve the drug result only in combination with alcohol or other substances.
Marijuana, just like any other drug, has many very unpleasant side effects such as death of the brain cells, damage to short-term memory, severe anxiety and more. Alcohol and tobacco may cause death. According to the information above, the two drugs that the government lets its people use are more damaging to the human body and society itself. Comparing the three, marijuana is the least addictive of them all, even though all substances have a drastic impact on a human's actions, appearances and well-being. .
Any addiction or substance can disturb one's place in society, work performance, or personal relationships.
