I believe that abortion is never justified because I agree with the fact that life begins at the moment of conception and that life is sacred. I feel that a foetus has a right to life and that the only decisions made should be by God, as He caused the foetus to be conceived and I believe He has decided the life of the unborn child.
I can appreciate, however, that it could be very difficult for instance to bring up a disabled child. But in this instance, as in every other, abortion is not the answer. There are people in this world that cannot have children themselves, for whom any child would be a blessing. The same applies to conceptions as a result of rape. The sins of the child's father are not the child's fault, and rather than just try and brush over the matter by terminating the pregnancy, the effort should go into trying and bringing the rapist to justice. There will always be some women who will never want to have children, I feel that adoption is an option that is very much demanded from infertile mothers. Terminating a pregnancy for such a reason amounts to murder, which is not only illegal, but is denounced by the Christian faith, "Thou shalt not kill".
I believe that nobody has the right to destroy what God has created. In effect, people who do so are not only murderers, but they consider themselves to be "God-like" themselves by taking on the role of creator and destroyer of life. Several times in the Bible it is implied that God values human life greatly. For example, we are told in Genesis that God created us in His own image, in Luke's Gospel that God has even counted the number of hairs on our head, and in Corinthians that our bodies are the temple of God. .
There is also the commandment; "Thou shalt not kill". Life begins at conception; therefore every abortion is murder. The foetus is not just a disposable clump of cells, but a unique and individual human life. It is true that the foetus is dependant on the mother for food and protection, but then so is the young child, and if people who are pro-abortion put this argument forward, does it mean then that they are also in favour of child murder?.
