Hamlet

The Ghost of King Hamlet appears only a few times, but has a major impact on the sanity of his son. He appears," in the same figure like the kings" that dead," ( p 956). The ghost speaks to Hamlet of his death. When speaking of his murder, the ghost proclaims, "so art thou to revenge, when thou shalt hear," (i.: v.: 973).This has Hamlet vow his revenge at once. His father's own brother murdered him in his sleep then married his queen. .The ghost tells Hamlet to seek revenge but not to hold a grudge against his mother. He states that, " Howsoever thou pursues this actTaint not thy mind, nor let thy soul contrive Against thy mother aught; leave her to heaven, And those thorns that in her bosom lodgeTo prick and sting her."(i.: v.: 975). The Ghost of King Hamlet is a spirit that cines back to have his plan of revenge fulfilled. King Claudius is the devious character. One that puts on a righteous mask yet is evil within. Hamlet best describes Claudius when yelling, "O villain, villain, smiling damned villain."(i.: vv.: 976). Hamlet, speaking of his worst enemy, the king, states "He hath killed my king, and whored my mother,Popped in between th" election and my hopes,"(i.: v.: 975). The devious King Claudius plans to kill Hamlet anyway that he can. When his first attempt fails, he manipulates Laertes to have him help. The king boldly states in one of their discussions, "No place indeed should murder sanctuarize, Revenge should have no boundaries-(iv.:vii.:1036). The king is foul throughout the play but gets what he deserves in the end. Now, Laertes, the son of Polonius, and fellow schoolmate of Hamlet, is enraged when he hears of his father's death. "To hell allegiance, vows to the blackest devil, conscience and grace, to the profoundest pit.I dare damnation: to this point I stand, negligence, Let come what comes, only I"ll be revenged most thoroughly for my father."(iv.:iv.:1029). Laertes has vowed vengeance to his father's murderer, and Claudius uses this to his advantage.
