Congress and the Presidency

This system consists of three separate and distinct branches; the legislative, the executive and the judicial. Although, separate in function, they must all come together in the one purpose of the day-to-day dealings of our country.
Specifically, our legislative branch of government is represented by Congress. The role of members of Congress is to balance their interests with the need to develop public policies that is in the national interest. Every year Congress deals with a wide variety of issues.
Congress is organized into two houses The House of Representative has 435 voting members among 50 states, plus several non-voting representatives from the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands. The Senate has 100 voting members, two from each state, called "Senator." The House and the Senate are equal in power.
The chief officer of the House is called the "Speaker." The most important officer of the Senate is the "Majority Leader." Each is in charge of leadership designed to promote policy objectives of their party for the good of our country.
The power to legislate is the power to make laws and enact policies. Both the House and the Senate must agree on a legislative proposal before it can be sent to the President for his signature.
Congress is open to popular influence, and thus the President's interaction with the people of this country on this issue, and any issue, is always an avenue pursued to aid in the promotion of establishing the support needed for any proposal. In order for the process of Congress to take effect, all viewpoints of all concerned are considered.
The President must now set out a rally, so to speak, to persuade Congress. Officials realize they would be pressed hard to get the deal approved within the first few months of next year. Even if the Republican leadership joins the White House in support of the China deal, the pros and cons of this issue are still sure to be of great debate between the conservative Republicans an the liberal Democrats.
