Fundy National Park


            Fundy National Park, located in southeastern New Brunswick, was established in 1948 to preserve the cultural and natural heritage of Canada. Fundy is 206 square-kilometers. It is located near the village of Alma and provincial Highway 114. Fundy also lies between the Saint John and the Petitcodiac river systems. .
             Fundy National Park protects a wide variety of plants, 658 to be exact. Animals are not left out of this protection either, 260 bird species have been identified in the park or on the adjacent bay. Reptiles have made an appearance in the bay but due to the rocky, boggy terrain, turtles have not been found there. .
             The Maritime Acadian Highlands, also known as Fundy National Park, was is renowned for its high and low tides which occur every six hours and thirteen minutes. One thing Fundy was never famous for was farming. Back before it was started, the settlers of Canada tried to farm the land but it was too rugged and the soil too poor for farming.
             In conclusion, Fundy is located in on the east coast of Canada. It was started to protect the wildlife of that area and it couldn't be farmed. The park is known for its tides.
