My Safe Haven

"WARNING!! ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!! Personal and private property. Ask permission or knock before entering." This is the greeting you receive when you step up to my room. It's basically saying to everyone, "This is my territory you're about to step into." My bedroom is my favorite place. It's where I go when I want to get away from everything. When I'm in my room I'm in my own world. My room is the only place where I can be myself without worrying about other people and what they think; it's my own personal space.
My day starts out at 6:30 am when my alarm clock wakes me up. As I open my eyes, all I see is blue. Bed sheets, curtains, walls, telephone, alarm clock, flowers, carpet, furniture. It's a big beautiful blue bedroom. I hit the snooze button and just lie in bed. Thinking about whether or not I want to get up yet, I come to the conclusion that I'd rather stay warm in bed a little while longer. I put my head back down on my big, fluffy pillow and cover myself up with my comforter.
Ten minutes later I wake up again to the sound of my alarm clock. Deciding it's finally time to get up, I turn it off. I get out of bed and walk across the fuzzy blue carpet. As I stand in front of my dresser I blow out my candles. The aroma of strawberries and vanilla fills the air as the smoke rises. Looking into the mirror, I see the pictures of my friends that border it. I remember some stupid thing we did yesterday and I laugh to myself.
I continue with my routine and get ready for school making my usual rounds and gathering all the things I need for the day. After I finish getting dressed and stand in front of the mirror to brush my hair. Meanwhile I'm coaching myself to be ready for the crazy lay ahead of me. I take a last glance around my room; my bed, my desk, my dresser, to see if I left anything behind. Decided that I'm ready to go, I step out into the hallway and close the door behind me. As soon as I step out I want to go back in, but I know I can't, so I keep walking.
