Faust - Evil

In this case Palestine, when rejected, upon trying to get there land back, resorted to evil, when they began using lethal force. Israel also was forced into the same evil not because of their desires, but because of Palestine's. One last example of evil that originated from desire is a very common one. In inner cities, people that never had many, if any, luxuries are often tempted to steal things, for use, or to sell for money, that can be used to buy these luxuries. In some cases, because of their status, perhaps they cant get a job, or have a job, but only make enough to make it by, often find the only way to obtain these things is by lowering themselves to the evil of stealing.
The Ancient tale Faust also proves the idea that evil derives from simple desires. In the story of Faust the main character, Faust, is pushed to evil, after a long period of self-torment. Faust was a very wise man, so wise, that he was wiser than any other mortal man. But that was not enough for Faust; he wanted the knowledge of the gods. But he couldn't obtain it, he tried once, but was frightened away when a spirit appeared in his study, after that he was tormented by his failure to gain knowledge of the gods. After long periods of torment he had contemplated suicide, but was talked out of it by the lord, and still he was tormented, until he called upon the devil. He asked the devil to give him knowledge, beyond that which he had, knowledge of the gods. The devil agreed to do so, only if he sold his soul, in doing so he would have to be the devils servant in the after life. Faust agreed to this, and at once the devil was Faust's servant doing what Faust wanted. This soon led to evil. Faust saw a girl, a girl he thought that he must have. With the devils help, he achieved the girls love, Faust at first believed he loved her, but when realizing it was just lust, and continued seeing her he had been truly changed by the evil that had slowly overcome him.
