Desdemona


Emillia planting the handkerchief in Cassio's bed chamber proves Iago's claims. Deeming Desdemona unfaithful in Othello's eyes. He is devastated and enraged at the thought of Desdemona sleeping with Cassio. So he kills her. Upon finding out that Desdemona was chaste he stabs himself. Othello did this because he was full of remorse.
             Desdemona is Brabantio's only daughter and his last link to his wife, who died. Brabantio adored Desdemona but when she eloped and married Othello it broke his heart. Leaving him upset Brabantio so much he disowned her and due to the pain of her leaving he dies.
             Emillia is Desdemona's Lady in waiting. Emillia I assume has known Desdemona most her life. They have formed a strong relationship based on honesty and loyalty. Emillia see's that Desdemona is very naive in the ways of men and women. She try's to teach Desdemona about the world. Upon the discovery of her role in Desdemona's death she is devastated and realizes what her husband has done. She tells all. Iago kills Emillia for foiling his plans. On her death bed she asks to be laid next to Desdemona. Emillia is loyal to the end. .
             C ) My impressions of Desdemona : .
             When Desdemona first appears in the text she is defending her love for Othello to the senators. She also has to let her father know that she is a married women and won't be living with him anymore. Desdemona explains that she loves and respects her dad as a father but she has a husband now.
             " I do perceive here a divided duty. To you I am bound for life and education .
             My life and education both do learn me. How to respect you. You are the lord of duty. I am hitherto your daughter but here's my husband ; " .
             My first impression of Desdemona is that she is strong willed and a very passionate person. If I had to say what star sign she was it would be a Scorpio be cause they have the same nature as Desdemona. Desdemona comes across as honest and an innocent pure soul.
