Government Security

"No group or nation should mistake America's intentions:.
We will not rest until terrorist groups of global reach.
have been found, have been stopped, and have been defeated.".
             President George W. Bush.
             November 6, 2001.
Should the government be allowed to step into our daily lives in order to protect U.S. citizens from deadly acts of terrorism? What drastic measures are we as "Americans" willing to take in order to keep terrorism out of the United States for good? What kind of new technology will be developed to use for security purposes without violating and stripping every American of their Constitutional Rights? After all this is "the land of the free and the home of the brave." Those very same words are in our National Anthem. If the government wants to start putting every single American under a closer watch, how will we be able to live a normal or close to normal life without the thought of "Big Brother" always being one step ahead of us? .
The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, in Washington, D.C., New York City, and Pennsylvania were acts of war against the United States of America and its allies, and against the very idea of civilized society. No cause justifies terrorism. The world must respond and fight this evil that is intent on threatening and destroying our basic freedoms and our way of life. Freedom and fear are at war. .
             Government Security 2.
States with poor governance, ethnic culture, or religious tensions, weak economies, and porous borders will be the prime breeding grounds for terrorism. In such states, domestic groups will challenge the entrenched government, and transnational networks seeking safe havens.
At the same time, the trend away from state-supported political terrorism and toward more diverse, freewheeling, transnational networks enabled by information technology will continue. Some of the states that actively sponsor terrorism or terrorist groups today may decrease or even cease their support by 2015 as a result of regime changes, but weak states also could drift towards cooperation with terrorists, creating de facto new state supporters (CIA Homepage).
