Postmoderism

Specialization, uniformity, standardization were the hallmarks of a commitment to, and faith in, the results of reason. .
Then along came Nietzsche and Heidegger. Nietzsche claimed, among other things, that reason was a chimera - that the results of reason were not the products of an independent, world-oriented rationality that brooked no opposition. Rather, reason was the result of persuasion. Truth, error, morality -- all are illusory; there is no ground on which to claim that one's sense of morality is final, absolute, irrevocable. ".
Analyzing this quote, we notice some very important viewpoints that Dr. McKerrow clearly makes note of. At the beginning, he starts with the acknowledgement of us as the human race as racing forward and trying to better ourselves. As we are trying to better ourselves, the human race has been incredibly busy in trying to find the answers that have hindered us and have not been able to answer. In mathematics, there are many solutions to solve a problem but in a test, there is only one way to answer the question which is the way the professor wants. Using this example in comparison to postmodernism, we have taken another route to answer questions that professionals ask both in science and philosophy. In essence, postmodernism is a new way of answering a question where there will be not only one solution to the question or "the truth". This is where discussion is at large. With the acceptance of postmodernism, society as a large is claiming that there are not only one solution but many solutions to problems, that there is no room for only one solution to answer the "questions" correctly. With the acceptance of postmodernism, all the things of the past that have built the society of today would be changed. With further analysis, the following can be seen:.
-- Cultural, intellectual side of the postmodern; .
non -- foundational, hierarchical, universal, logocentric .
