Animal testing us unethical and should be outlawed. I believe that animals have the right to be free from harm by people. Testing products with animals for cosmetics , dog food and household products is unmoral. Procter and Gamble are associate with all three of these cruel testing.
Eye shadow is one of the product which uses animal testing. Bunny rabbits ate used in eye Irritancy test. The use a liquid, flake, granule, or powdered substance is dropped into the eyes of albino rabbits. This done with no anesthesia during the test. Some animals break there necks trying to escape while other rabbits go blind.
IAMS a company well know for their dog food . On April 10, 2003 a article came about IAMS exposes how scientists deliberately induced kidney failure and other conditions in dogs and cats. Some experiments involved performing operations on healthy animals which were later killed.
Tide is also well know for the detergent which poisoned and kills many animals each year. They also use rabbits and other animals to test products in similar ways except they also rub chemicals onto animals' shaved and abraded skin. The animals are forced into restraining devices so they can't escape the pain; usually they are not sedated or given painkillers. Some animals have broken their necks or backs trying to escape.
There are 550 companies that do not use animal testing such as Avon and Gillette. They also believe there are other means in developing and selling a product. So I believe there is no excuse for animal cruelty when testing cosmetic, dog food and household products.
