Columbia Space Shuttle a Mere Accident or the Work of Terrorists?.
One January 31, 2003 the world morned at the news that the spacecraft, Columbia had tragically .
exploded while attempting to board onto a return ship. 7 people were on board. Among the crew was the first .
Israeli member, __________, who was considered a hero among all of his people anxiously awaiting his safe .
return. Still shaking the effects of the post 911 attack against our country, it is inevitably difficult to ignore the .
possibility that one of these groups may have struck again. .
At 9am, technicians at NASA lost all contact with Columbia. Immediately after they were informed of a .
loud explosion and balls of firey debre crashing over the Texas area. Not since 1986 had something this .
catastrophic happened to a NASA aircraft when the _____ did not even get to begin their mission when the .
entire aircraft ignighted into flames upon take off. Once again the Nation grieves in incertainty praying this was .
not an act of Middle East terrorism. .
Controvery in regards to this tragedy evolve in our minds when we remember 911 and the fact that we .
are currently at war with the Middle East. Although there is no immediate reason to suspect terrorism, we as .
humans who have been put through so much grief, can not control our thoughts. Perhaps the fact that Texas is .
the home of our President and debre specifially fell over a town called Palestine further inflames our pesimistic .
views. In my opinion, it is extremely difficult to see this as a mere coincidence at the moment. If, in the end, our .
suspicious are proved right, our generation will never see trust between our Nation and the Middle Eastern .
people ever again. This is a sad thought and would be a very sad world to live in. .
In conclusion, prayers stand strong that hatred and plans of intentional harm were not intended for the .
crew of the Columbia spacecraft. Perhaps we may never know the aswer to exactly what happened that day .
