Many people today are concerned with society's lack of ethics. All of the issues surrounding society today are complicating people's abilities to make ethical decisions. I believe that the two hottest ethical issues we have today are abortion and euthanasia. .
Abortion is a major issue because most people feel that it is not right to kill an unborn child. The mother of this child when choosing to have an abortion makes the choice of "death" for that baby. Is this fair? People surrounding the abortion issue argue that if a mother were of sound moral character she would let the child live, and make the proper intellectual decision.
Euthanasia is referring to you, as a person, being handed the decision of when you want to die. Should you be given the right to decide this? I do not think so. There are too many high stress people in the United States to legalize this procedure. We would have people killing themselves over issues that were not even life damaging. It is morally wrong for us to support such behavior. If we, as a society allow this, we will be compromising our moral standards as a country.
