Art Is About Ideas

The flower is a Hibiscus flower, which represents beauty. Beauty is highly placed in many peoples lives, and it is safe to say that everyone cares about beauty in some part of their life. The background, and the little girls skin is coloured a faint shade of green. Green is the world recognised symbol for life. The small girl has a thoughtful look on her face that suggests she is thinking about something. The bride in the upper left hand corner seems as if she is in another world, when the child has grown and prospered. The fact that the picture is about a garden also gives this picture meaning. Gardens or the environment people live in or create for themselves, have great influence on their lives. This picture is however a very dreamy look at life, as the little girl is hoping and dreaming that everything will turn out right.
i.e. The bride is shown as a stereotypical way of how a girl should be when she grows up. .
             Judgement.
One is drawn to this picture for its beauty and excellent use of colour. The colours are bright and beautiful, unlike "Do Not Hesitate - Claudine Hellmuth" which uses bland colours. The elements gave this a dreamy effect which is quite peculiar yet stunning. However the use of composition and line could have been improved as it seemed slightly disjointed. .

Do Not Hesitate - Claudine Hellmuth.
             Description.
'Do Not Hesitate' is a picture of an old fashioned lady in a coral coloured garment next to a window with thick, thatched, steel bars. The ladies eyes are blocked out with the words "Do Not Hesitate" and a pair of scissors seem to be cutting down her garment of clothing. Behind the thick steel bars of the window is a red patch against faded, old documents. The background is a green or aqua striped wallpaper. The composition of this picture is very disturbing as it focuses on the scissors and window, indicating some significance of these objects. The colours are faded pastels and include, aquas, coral or creams browns and a dash of red.
