I was in the air and a tall, six foot seven kid from the other team jumped up to contest my shot. He ended up knocking me to the floor so hard that it felt like I had just gotten hit by a Mack Truck. I didn't know where I was at first, the room was spinning around like I was on a fast paced carousel at a carnival. There was also blood flowing like a river out of my chin. I got carried off the court into the trainer's room and he told me that I would probably need stitches. I told him that I wanted to keep playing because this could be my last high school game ever. He evaluated me to see if I was able to play and I was eventually able to persuade him to let me play. He just slapped a band-aid on my chin and I continued to play after halftime. At halftime the score was 35-30 in our favor.
             After the long halftime speech from our coach, the third quarter had begun. I was so nervous that it felt like I had butterflies flying around in my stomach. Even though I was experiencing a tremendous throbbing pain in my chin, I still continued to be effective. I knew every shot I took was going to have a good chance of going in because I was in such a good rhythm. The other team's face looked stunned because they just watched me get hurt very bad, yet I was still making all of my shots. Their fans even stood in disbelief as I continued to stroke three-pointers. It was nearing the end of the third quarter and the game was very close as both of our teams would continue to exchange baskets up and down the court. At the end of the third quarter the score was 57-55 in the other teams favor. I knew we were good enough team to come back and win the game, but it was going to be hard because we were all so nervous.
             It was the beginning of the fourth quarter and the crowd started to get loud again. The cheerleaders were chanting and yelling for us to win to give us some confidence. The other team had the lead and I knew we had to make a move soon if we wanted to win this game.
