Instead of Juliet drinking the sleeping potion and then getting to Mantua half-dead in a coffin, Juliet shouldn't go to St. Peters church on Thursday and marry Paris. Then when Juliet doesn't show up at the church on Thursday, Lord Capulet would kick her out of the family and send her to live on the streets with the homeless people. Then after Juliet got kicked out of her home, Friar Lawrence would pick her up off the streets after a short period of time and leave Verona dawn when Romeo left Verona so the watch guards wouldn't notice them leaving. Then Juliet would go Mantua to live happily forever. Friar Lawrence would wait for a short period of time because it would make the plan less suspicious. If Juliet got kicked out of her house and then suddenly disappeared in five minutes and no one noticed her leave, people would wonder what happened to her.
This plan would work better because there isn't a chance of anyone being terribly shocked like in Friar's other plan, which involved Juliet in a state where she looked like she was dead. This way if Balthasar saw Juliet, he would only tell Romeo that Juliet got kicked out of her home because of some reason instead of telling Romeo that Juliet had died. Romeo, if known this, would most likely ride back to Verona or tell Balthasar to give a letter to Friar Lawrence, telling him to please pick up Juliet off the streets and send her to Mantua so they could live together. This way Romeo wouldn't kill himself because he thought Juliet was dead. Instead, he would be happier because he would be with Juliet earlier. .
Also, if Lord Capulet felt sorry that he kicked Juliet out of his family, before Friar Lawrence could get her to Mantua, and took her back in the family, most likely, Lord Capulet would let Juliet do more of what she wanted and wouldn't force her to marry Paris anymore. This would mean that Friar's first plan that take would several months would work now because Capulet would probably lighten up and she wouldn't have many restrictions on what she could do.
