FDR'S New Deal

What was Franklin Delano Roosevelt's "New Deal"? How did it impact Americans during the Great Depression, and does it still have impact on today's society? First to find a broad definition of what the "New Deal" was someone must check your basic web searches or search engines on home sites like http://www.yahoo.com. Next let's say someone chooses The Great Depression And The New Deal which is the site http://www.bergen.org/AAST/Projects/depression/. Once at this sight the researcher needs to search only the pertinent information on the table of Contents. At this sight there is actually a topic labeled Successes And Failure's in Roosevelt's "New Deal" programs. In this part of the site it labels major programs brought about during this period and tells whether these programs worked correctly. .
After a picture of one of the work programs of the time period the site starts off by stating "When President Roosevelt took office in 1933, he feverishly created program after program to give relief, create jobs, and stimulate economic recovery for the U.S. These programs were called "alphabet soup" as well as the "New Deal." So now the site has given a basic answer to the main problem of "What is the New Deal?". But more than it goes into detail telling successes and failures of each program and institution.
Take for instance social security, FDIC, and the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 were all triumphs for FDR's "New Deal" someone would need to run a more detail search to get enough information to write about. But what is good is it also shows the NIRA and the AAA which were programs from the "New Deal" that did not fair so well. Although this site helps somewhat, it does not provide enough information for a paper. But once returning to the table of contents there are other selection topics such as Legacy of the New Deal in Comparison with other deals which help to provide comparisons to other presidential plan of economic recovery.
