A study done by INS in 1996 found that about 60% of the then estimated five million illegal immigrants were EWI (entry without inspection) and about 40% were overstayers. .

             On the other hand, we should look into making it a little easier for persons from foreign countries to become U.S. citizens. The existing process takes years and is often the reason why so many innocent people do stupid things and end up losing their lives trying to get to the U.S. .
             We should look into beginning an express expediting service for those who have a clear record. No prior arrests or investigations, nor any prior attempts at trying to cross the border illegally. .
             Also, families who need assistance and are coming over to better their lives-we could designate certain housing units for these families.
