Ecstasy is not the type of drug people think it is. It is worse. The body overheats and may make the body go into hyperthermia. A drug is a thing that hurts the body in someway and makes one feel something artificial. Hyperthermia is when the body goes way over the usual temperature. Ecstasy may also cause muscle breakdown, seizures, stroke, kidney and cardiovascular system failure. Ecstasy doesn't just affect only you but also everyone you are close to you, because the moods and depression that occurs from MDMA destroys the relationships with your loved ones.
Ecstasy's real name is [ 3,4 methylenedioxymethampetamine] or simply put as MDMA. MDMA (also commonly known as Ecstasy, X, E, XTC, Adam, etc.) is a semi-synthetic chemical compound. It is a synthetic, psychoactive drug. It is similar to an amphetamine. It is a white crystalline powder. It's usually in capsule form, in pressed pills, or as loose powder. Average cost ranges from $10-$30 a pill. Common routes of administration are swallowing or snorting, although it can be smoked or injected as well. Merch And Co. created MDMA in Germany in 1914. The army adopted it, because they thought it could be used as a "truth serum" in the 1950s. It was to be an appetite suppressant. "In July 1985, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) called for an emergency ban on MDMA." [Ecstasy p:4]. Ecstasy is an illegal drug; because of this the penalties are very high. There is a zero-tolerance stance on this drug. Ecstasy is also a Schedule I Drug which are highly illegal.
First, Ecstasy kills the brain, which will make one depressed short-term/long-term and do other short-term or long-term damage. On a study in apes, the brain cells that produce serotonin grew back, but didn't produce enough as it did before the dose of Ecstasy.
