To be part of the American society is a great honor bestowed upon the citizens living in this illustrious country. Throughout history, many elements have contributed to the uniqueness of our culture. Although our society can at times be driven by money, events like establishment of the Constitution, which gives citizens of America most of their freedoms, and the recent event of the horrifying September 11th, which gives America a sense of unity, has given America their individuality. .
One event that greatly affects our society, creation of the Constitution, which grants the freedoms the citizens of America tend to forget. The Constitution is a document like no other, for it grants every citizen, man or women, black or white, Christian or Muslim, a guaranteed set of rights. The constitution grants everyone, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and many freedoms that most countries don't offer. The constitution allows for the racial diversity found in America. Only in American can one see a "melting pot" of Asian, European, African, and Latino people all living in the same city, abiding by the same laws, and working side by side in peace and harmony. In many other societies, people would die for the sovereignty, Americans receive every day. The freedoms people enjoy in this country are one of a kind, and helps create the American culture.
The tragic events of September 11th will live on in the hearts of each individual's heart forever. For the first time since the attack on Pearl Harbor has there been attack on American soil, and as a result of the violence, people felt like they in order to ease the pain of losing so many lives, they needed to band together in order to overcome such adversity. Towns across the nation united through memorial services showed America's true colors. Donations to the families victimized the attacks, were given and exemplified how when push comes to shove fellow Americans can depend on each other.
