Run Lola Run

After watching the film Run Lola Run I am in many ways reminded of the ripples on the surface of water when a rock is thrown into a lake. I feel this movie has enlightened me to a number of different ideas. I believe the movie proved the fact that if given enough chances to change the past the desirable outcome will eventually arise. The fact that this proves true in this movie completely discredits the theory of fate and proves that our free will and decisions we make ultimately decide our destiny.
When a pebble is thrown into a lake, ripples branch out all around into a much larger area than that of the pebble. Comparatively, through Lola's continuous striving, you can see the each time she deliberately alters a simple action in her life a significant change occurs. For example, in one case when she tripped over the dog on the stairs it slowed her down, but in the same respect she also did not meet her father because her father's client made it to the appointment on time and therefore wasn't able to rob the bank.
The simplest thing as a change of her speed when running makes a huge impact not only on her but also, on everyone around her. This can also be compared closely to the example of ripples in water by showing how when you throw a pebble into one area of water the surrounding areas of water are all affected. One example of Lola's actions affecting others in the movie immensely includes her encounter with the woman on the corner of the street. The first time she comes upon this woman she bumps into her, and just that little bump makes a huge difference in this woman's life. After that bump her surly disposition eventually lead her to stealing an infant child from its mother. Although the second time the woman is encountered she doesn't hit her, but runs past her which ultimately ends with the woman winning the lottery and becoming very wealthy.
Although, there was one issue that was never resolved in my mind after watching the movie, and that was the role of the security guard in the bank.
