Critical Thinking Styles and F

Again the problem is that Annie is not making sales offers? Why? She does not feel that everyone else is doing it. Why? Another consultant told her that they were not doing it and nothing was happening to them. Why? She does not know why. Why? She has no proof to explain whether it was true or not. Why? She is not privy to that information. This analysis helped determine what her roadblock is for making the required sales offer. It also gave a clear picture that it has nothing to do with skill, but an issue of will. .
Besides the five why analysis, I also used the Undesirable-Desirable Impediment analysis (UDI). This was not very helpful because when it came time to list all the impediments there were not really any except for will. The only person that can change a will issue is the person involved so it is ultimately up to them to decide if they choose to rectify the problem or not. They are completely in control of their future.
After trial an error I realized that probably the best way to address this problem is through gap analysis since Annie totally understood what the expectation is for the desired results. By doing this we were able to create a list of things for us to do that would help in assisting her to make the required sales offer. Though this only works when all parties complete the tasks on the action list. Otherwise, this process would all be for nothing as it was in this case. Just to clarify, I did do all that was expected of me. On the other hand, she did not do any of the actions she said she would do. .
This problem can be framed incorrectly due to the forces of influences in a couple of different ways. The first one being that there has never been an employee released for not meeting the sales offer requirement so Annie probably thought "nothing is going to happen to me". By her believing there are no consequences it made the coaching discussions more difficult even though I would specifically tell her what the consequences were every time we met.
