Mountain climbing or mountaineering is a very exciting and adventurous sport, but equally dangerous and should be taken seriously. Whether the person is climbing Alps, the Himalayas or the Pyrenees, he needs special gear and lots of guts to make sure his climbing is successful.
In general a climber needs special clothing to protect himself from the harsh winds and blazing sun at the mountain's high altitudes. He also requires special equipment, such as mountain sticks, spike and rope, to assist him in his climb.
Besides these special garments and equipment, the mountain climber also needs stamina and physical fitness. Supposing, however, the climber finds himself on the mountain without any of the necessary garments and with out the appropriate stamina. His success is now solely dependant on the strength of his resolve. Although he lacks all the tools to assist him, if his determination is firm enough, he can succeed.
As a climber I would need all of the above as well as many other things. As a general rule, I would have to pack carefully and lightly as weight is very important, but also be prepared of the sudden changes in the weather which is equally important.
Packing lightly as everyone knows, seems difficult, considering the possibility of the weather changes and the fact that packing something to eat and drink is also required. Nevertheless, making a list and taking only the equipment needed for that area, as different mountains need different equipment, it is not necessary to pack all the climbing equipment, this might help solve the problem.
Also I would check the climate conditions, rather than ending up with unexpected weather, and ending the expedition. I would also have to make a plan and discuss the route and the amount of time the expedition would take with the assistant who will assist me on the expedition.
While packing food I should concentrate on foods high in carbohydrates for longer lasting energy.
