The Cross

"Adams sin became the sin of the whole human race, and Christ's goodness became the goodness of the whole human race.".
The next view of atonement is which is the idea that in " Jesus" life and in His death and in His resurrection, Jesus finally and utterly defeated the evil demonic powers whose aim was to compass the death and destruction of men." Jesus is our hero in other words, and it is sad to say that some till fail to realize that. He won the battle fought between the good and the evil. Jesus is victorious and we will be too if we follow His ways. "On the cross, Jesus became the slayer of death himself." This in turn gives humans the knowledge of opportunity that lies before us to reach Heaven.
The definition of atonement can be described as something offered in places of something else. Jesus was the sacrifice for the world's sins. He was the Lamb; and His sacrifice has no limits. Ours sins can be forgiven forever, rather than animal sacrifices given in the Law of Moses. Those sacrifices were temporary. .
Jesus was the victim and sacrifice for the sin of man. "The idea of Jesus as the sacrificial victim for the sin of man may be said to take three forms." Jesus died on the cross for the remission of sin. He paid the price for our own actions. "There is the idea that the death of Jesus is the sacrifice which atones for the sin of man." The chapter discusses a verse given in Galatians 2:20. "Paul spoke of the Son Of God who loved him and who gave himself for him, and that is the simplest expression of Jesus as the supreme and availing sacrifice for all mankind." According to the Jewish religion the sacrifice of Jesus "helped restore the broken relationship between God and man." It was the great sacrifice made by Jesus that brought together God and man.
Jesus suffered and died so we did not have to. In the words of David Smith, "We lay by reason of our sin both original and actual, under the wrath and curse of God, sentenced to an eternity of torment; and the doom would have been executed upon us had not Christ offered himself in our room and suffered in our stead the stroke of Gods wrath and thus satisfied his justice and appeased is anger.
