During the 1920's was a time of relaxation and enjoyment. Since people enjoyed this a newer style of music was created and discovered. This particular music was called "jazz." Also, there were a group of young girls who decided to have a change. They called themselves, "Flappers.".
Flappers were very well known in the roaring 20's. They played a big role in the history. It was the first time in history where everything changed; not all traditions changed, but most. The flappers contributed many things to our society. They changed the way girls were viewed. Flappers gave us females nowadays the opportunity of expressing ourselves and for who we really are. Without the flappers, we"d still follow the traditional ways from back then. Traditions can be broken every now and then. I mean, if the "flappers" didn't do what they feel like inside, then we would be who we are right now. Nowadays we"re well known as the x-generation. Bobbed hair was the term back in the roaring twenties fir short hair, and now, its just as plain and simple as short hair. Since then, many other haircuts and styles were developed. Also their style of dressing changed dramatically! They started out traditionally long skirts. As the flappers came in, the hemp lines got higher (shorter) and higher. They showed more and more skin then before. Comparing the dress code from the flappers and now, it's still the same; it's just that since now and then, many designers designed more skin showing clothing.
Flappers affected the world tremendously! Without the flappers, we wouldn't be able to dress the way we want. Dressing with the clothes we like truly expresses ourselves. We dress for a purpose and it's to show others who you really are. One person that was in the "flapper" age is Marilyn Monroe. She became the biggest sex symbol in history. She really expressed herself. Marilyn was the star of playboy magazines.
