pro-life vs. pro-choice

Like so many others we just haven't heard, because the media and those who support the "abortion rights" issue don't bring that issue to the surface. We call it life and they call it a matter of choice. Only God has the right to choose life or death. "But that's not fair! What about the mother's rights?" What about the baby's right? Or is "It" a baby, a human being? As a pro-choice believer would say, "the unborn is a simple blob of tissue". Abortion is terminating a pregnancy, a killing of a baby." A response of pro- life believers is that an unborn human is not just a blob of tissue. From the moment of conception the unborn is a separate, living human being. Another example, pro-choice people believe that the fetus is just a part of the pregnant woman's body, like her tonsils or appendix. However the pro-life supporters say a fetus is not just another part of a woman's body. A body part is defined by the common genetic code it shares with the rest of its body. The unborn genetic code differs from its mother's. Some of them are even male, while their moms are obviously female. Pro-choice people have another argument statement that life begins at birth. This is why we celebrate birthdays, not conception days. They believe that it is not true and that you are human right from conception, not birth. Science has shown us that human life begins at conception. All genetic character of a distinct individual is present from the moment of conception. Our recognition of birthdays are cultural, not scientific (pg, 25 Brio). .
One of the reasons I do not believe in abortion is because I am very religious. People that believe in pro-choice say it's a blob of tissue and it does not matter. But t biblical support says the fetus tissue becomes a human being. Not only did God create human life, but also we are told it was made in God's image and according to God's likeness. Since God is a spirit and has no physical body, then the image must refer to man's personality or soul or spirit and not his physical body.
