            With the amazing amount of career opportunities in the U. it's a wonder that we're even able to make an educated decision as to what we want to do with the rest of our lives. Luckily with technology increasing day by day, we are able to put a grasp on things by using the technology as our primary tool. Choices 2001 gave me a little. perspective on my future opportunities. Dentistry was one of the primary occupations that showed up on my screen after filling out my interest survey. Dentistry proved to me, to be a very interesting occupation.

             Dentists' tasks range in a large variety from filling and replacing teeth, to restoring color, to analyzing and researching to evaluate certain dental needs. They use a variety of equipment including surgical instruments, diagnostic equipment, and other dental instruments.
             Most places recommend if you're planning on becoming a dental student, then now is the time to start planning, right here in high school. They advise taking on a heavy load in the sciences and math's. Once you complete high school and move on to college it is recommended to build a solid foundation in the natural sciences such as general biology and inorganic and organic chemistry. Also psychology and business courses provide for a good foundation to add to your career. Before entering dental school, you should prepare and take the Dental Admission Test a year before entering dental school. This test measures a person's potential for academic success in dental school. A dental education usually requires a minimum of two years of college and four years of dental school. If you decide to specialize in one of the other eight areas, then there will be another minimum of two years of additional schooling.
             There are about 150,000 dentists in the United States, and therefore, there are a very small number of job openings. There are a total of 3,752 annual job openings expected between 1998 and 2008.
