Privacy is a very important issue in today's modern society. As consumers, we want to keep records such as our credit card files, banking information, social security. No one wants their private information to be available to the others and the public. There must be no exception about the internet for personal information security because it is not enough restricted to protect one's information as people think.
With the dawn of the internet, we can get and have lots of useful information on the internet. Nowadays, we can talk with friends on the internet as on the telephone. We even can see their faces on the screen when we are talking with them by using some programs, such as MSN Messenger. This is absolutely amazing to me that we live in a world where a person in Texas can communicate in real time to someone in Korea. However, when we use those particular programs, we have to register and get ID to log in those programs provider's sites. One of those providers, MSN, states that they have security system to protect information, but they are still taken their member's personal information by someone. It means that they don't have enough security system to protect their member's information not as they state. .
Our private records and general privacy as citizens can be accessible to anyone and anywhere. It means that our privacy has been slowly taken away from us and we do not understand how or why. Today, anyone has the ability to take away one's identity and dwell in one's personal records simply buy logging on to certain sites catering such requests. Anyone easily can have the ability to obtain access to our social security numbers, addresses, phone numbers, banking records, criminal, civil and professional histories on the internet. For example, it is quite easy for someone to get a hold of anyone's personal banking information because thousands of people use the on-line credit card on the internet.
