             Gauri loved Bhuvan and therefore she had faith in him. She trusted him in whatever he was doing and that is the reason she was the first to support Bhuvan when the whole village was against him.
             Elizabeth also loved Bhuvan and that was the thing that drove her to help him in learning cricket in spite of restriction imposed on her by his brother Captain Russell. .
             Security is an intense motive. Security is largely based on fear and avoidance oriented. People have a learned security motive to protect themselves from the contingencies of life and actively trying to avoid situations that would prevent them from satisfying their primary, general and secondary motives. .
             Villagers had fear that they will be ruined if they will have to pay triple tax. They feared that they would have to sell their land and would have to live a miserable life. They wont have even basic needs of life such as food to live on and so they opposed Bhuvan's decision and refused to help him. .
             Motivation theories. Different motivation theories have attempted to provide explanations of what motivates people. Motivation theories are divided in two parts. Content theories focus on what sorts of factors within the person that energizes, direct, sustain, and stop behavior. They attempt to determine the specific needs that motivate people. Process theories describe and analyze how behavior is energized, directed, sustained and stopped by factors external to the person. .
             Villagers were suffering from draught for last two years. No rain for that year had put a question mark on their existence. They were lacking the basic needs. According to Maslow's hierarchy of needs their physiological and safety needs, Alderfer's ERG theory their existence need and Herzberg's two factor theory their hygienic needs were the main things that motivated villagers to join Bhuvan's team and work hard to get desired result. .
             For Arjan the reason for joining the team was due to self-esteem need as he was humiliated and beaten by Captain Russell.
