I could hear the loud laughter from outside of the Tabard Inn. We rode on our finest and strongest horse. It was a white horse with silky hair that dance upon the sun and a strong built body. None of the other horses could compare to ours. We jumped off our horses and carried our food, which was enough water and bread to last for a few more days.
Quietly, I sat down. There is a certain elegance, a decoration of smiles and gestures upon these guest as they share their stories without strangeness but the enjoyment of each others company. Perhaps they did not notice my entrance, but I was glad that no one screamed at my appearance yet. My father ordered more bread and water. He always said we musn't waste money in times of crisis such as these times, referring to the plague that continues without rest to putting people in their forever rest. I could smell the sweet aroma of better food. There were several wooden tables laid out with plentiful of customers. The chairs did not seem in such a shape but they could hold a lesser person. Four windows with brown ragedy curtains gave light to this Tabard Inn. The floors were cleaned but certainly not shinny. Suddenly, my father poked me. He told me to introduce myself to the men. "My name is Judy. My family sells horses." I yelled. They looked at me and then continued their conversation and drinks. I heard a laugh among the crowd striking me. It was a young man. I sat there quietly, while the crowd induce in joy as they drink and argued aggressively. I mourn in boredom that drove my mentality insane. Moments later as I sat there half asleep and tired, I felt a hand tapped my back. Slowly as I regained conscious, I saw the man who laughed at me earlier. " Be thou'st not angry at me for waking thee up to enjoy this day. My name is Squire. Please to meet you, fair lady" He held his hand out waiting for me to extend my hand for a kiss. I blushed and gave my virgin hand to him for a gentle kiss.
