One of the most important things that need to be considered is the audience of your project. Since your audience is the most important to your project, the question of whom this product is for must be answered first. The project must be tailored to the target audiences needs. There are many question that must be asked for this subject. Who is my audience? Are they primarily males, or females? Is this project for children? All possibilities must be considered. .
For example, if the project is being designed for children, it has to be very easy to understand, and navigate through. Graphically, it has to use images and colors geared towards holding the short attention span of children. .
Once a target audience is reached, brainstorming can begin. It is a very good idea to do some brainstorming before any other pre-production is done. Having different ideas for the same project will be very beneficial. This way the team can discuss these different ideas and a consensus can be reached on which idea is the best for the particular project. .
After the best idea is selected for implementation, the concept can then be fully developed. This step gives the team a vision of what the final outcome of the project will be. This will also get everyone involved with the project on the same page. Not having everyone know what is going on with the project will be detrimental to the completion of the project.
Now that the specifics are decided upon, a decision has to be made for what software is going to be used to create this particular project. Today, there are different software applications to create multimedia rich pieces. Industry standards today include Macromedia Flash, and Macromedia Director. This needs to be decided because these two types of software are similar but both have serve their particular purpose.
