Luther King Vs. Malcom X

King was raised in a middle-class family in the south. He attended a segregated school and graduated with honors as a Bachelor in Sociology. After that he earned a doctoral degree in Systematic Theology. He earned many other awards and at the age of thirty-five he was the youngest ever to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
King and X had different beliefs about religion and that played the central role in their lives and thinking. They were devoted to their respective church as well as to their movement. King was a Christian, X a Muslim and they emphasized this difference in what they wrote and said. X stated: " And Dr. King is a Christian Minister from Atlanta, Georgia [. . .]The same as they are Christian Minister, I"m a Muslim minister.[. . .] Islam is my religion [. . .] And my religious philosophy is personal between me and the God in whom I believe - just as the religious philosophy of these others is between them and the God in whom they believe" (X 72). And King writes: " the largest and best-known being Elijah Muhammad's Muslim movement. [. . .] this movement is made up of people who have lost faith in America, who have absolutely repudiated Christianity, and who have concluded that the white man is an incorrigible "devil""(King 34). It shows the devotion of each one and the way they saw each other beliefs.
Their political views were also different. King favored integration with the white population in a peaceful and equal community without segregation. When he writes: "All segregation statutes are unjust because segregation distorts the soul and damages the personality. It gives the segregator a false sense of superiority and the segregated a false sense of inferiority" (King 30) and "The nations of Asia and Africa are moving with jetlike speed toward gaining political independence, but we still creep at horse-and-buggy pace toward gaining a cup of coffee at a lunch counter" (King 28), he shows that blacks and whites should have equality in everything.
