Short Story - The Delivery

As he shaved his face, his captor's masked head moved into view in the mirror behind him. After wiping his face, he went back into the bedroom where, watched by his tall captor, he put on his usual work clothes, a white shirt, a tie and his suit. "Tidy up your hair," the voice behind him said. He combed his hair, watching his captor in the mirror. "Sit down. You and me are going to have a wee talk." He sat on his wife's dressing chair while his captor sat on the bed. "You"re going to leave like any other day. You take your normal route to the hotel." Ah, the hotel so that is what they were after, Ryan thought. "You"ll drive onto the premises and park your car in your reserved parking space. You"ll arrive exactly at 9 am. When you park your car, do not enter the hotel. Do you here me?" Ryan nodded, staring at the masked eyes directly in front of him. "You"ll go straight back out the gate and onto the street again. You will not go into the hotel, no matter what anyone says to you or whatever happens. If you"re not out of the hotel parking lot five minutes after you go in, we"ll know you double-crossed us. Is that clear?" Ryan nodded again. "When you are a couple of hundred feet down the street a green taxi will be cruising by. Signal it to stop and it"ll drive you home." "Is there a bomb in the car?" His captor hesitated; he blinked for the first time. .
After shutting his eyes as to think he reopened them and said in a very calm voice: "Yes, there is a bomb in the car. It's a timed bomb. All you have to do is park your car where you always do and come out of the hotel premises right away. You speak to nobody. If someone speaks to you, you just say hello or whatever. Remember, if you do exactly what I tell you, when you come back your wife will be waiting here for you." "So you"re going to blow up the hotel?" The captor shifted on the bed. "Don't worry about what we"re going to do."Are you going to give a warning?" Ryan realized as his voice rose a pitch.
