Describe a person who has had a major influence on you and what that influence was.
Gleason was a quiet man who always had the shades pulled down on his windows, and the only time I ever had seen him was early Sunday mornings when he got in his Buick to go for a drive. Mr. Gleason kept to himself and everyone in the neighborhood respected his privacy everyone expect my two best friends, Matt and PJ and me. Now I'm not saying that the three of us were "Peeping Toms- or that we stole or vandalized anything of his, or went through his mail. We did however think of the Gleason residence and the property as one of the last unexplored places in the neighborhood; and being twelve years old we were at the height of our explorer days and we couldn't just leave this mystery uninvestigated. Mr. Gleason's yard was all fenced in except for the driveway, which reminded me of a medieval fortress.
Our explorations started out innocent; jumping over his fence and sneaking into his yard after he left for his Sunday drives, and then at night ringing his doorbell and running. Still, we knew nothing about Mr. Gleason besides what kind of vegetables he was growing in his garden. I had been in everyone else in the neighborhood's house. I felt that being in someone's place of living, where all of their possessions were, was really a way to see what kind of person he or she was. This enigma of Mr. Gleason was intriguing me so much that I could not take it anymore; I had to find out all that I could about the man that nobody had talked to in years. Of course I did not expect to find much inside, he probably had plastic on all his furniture, and probably a bunch of old, boring pictures of him and his dead wife. Still, I needed to know.
When I told my friends that I thought he should go inside, they firmly stated their opinion, "Hell no-. Snooping around somebody's yard was one thing, but trespassing in somebody's house is completely different.
