Almost everyone you meet in our society has some kind of relationship with someone. In the following paragraphs I will explain how important communication is to develop and maintain a solid, healthy relationship. To define "relationship" in the context of communication; the aspect of a message that offers cues about the emotions, attitudes, and amount of power and control the speaker directs toward others. Like the majority of the people I know I have had experience with communication making or breaking a relationship.
Communication, I have found, is the most important part of a relationship. The most recent relationship that I was involved in is a prime example of this concept. I was really unaware of how important it was to communicate about everything with your significant other. I found out first hand that no matter how close you are, nobody is a mind reader. I was never a person that expressed my feelings or emotions and that is what caused a long relationship to come to an end. I can't stress enough on how important it is to communicate well with your boyfriend/girlfriend, husband or wife if you want a strong and healthy relationship.
On many occasions in the relationship that I have discussed arguments would come about from nowhere, and a lot of the time they were probably my fault. For example, something at work or school would have me upset and I would be in a bad mood. Instead of talking about, like normal people, I would want to be left alone and not discuss anything. This would, of course, start a fight that would absolutely go nowhere. I have since learned to share my feeling and communicate about almost anything and everything.
I have learned so much from that relationship experience, though it came in ways that hurt sometimes, there has to be a silver lining around that cloud. If I were ever to give any advice to someone starting a relationship of any kind, it would be communicate, communicate, and communicate.
