Immortality in Dracula

Dracula can achieve an unchanging form for a very long time but not forever. Eventually, his existence will decline to an unbearable state. .
Another aspect of immortal existence is the boredom that would inevitably arise from continuing unchanging and performing the same tasks over and over again for the rest of time. Boring tasks that continue for an extended period of time can be rationalized away by the beings that face an impending death as having an eventual end, at death if not before. Even tasks that are not considered boring or are required for survival, such as eating, could become painfully boring when repeated for the rest of all eternity. Relationships, that could break the monotony of this existence, are impossible to maintain for the vampire with anyone but other vampires and since it appears that there were approximately four vampires in existence (Dracula and the three lady vampires) this is a severely limited pool of associations. Friendships between vampires and non-vampires would be impossible firstly because of the food-prey relationship but also because of the vampire's unchanging existence. The vampire would continue along the same path forever while the non-vampire would grow old and die. Dracula seems to have maintained a high degree of sanity, but a normal mind subjected to infinite monotony and unending solitary confinement would become unhinged. It could be expected that most long-lived vampires would be, to some varying degree, insane.
Finally, the vampires that are created by Dracula do not have the freedom to do anything Dracula himself does not wish them to do. Mina Harker slips more and more deeply into the thrall of the vampire after drinking of his blood. She becomes so deeply captivated by him that there is concern in discussing plans relating to Dracula near her "dear Madam Mina is changing we must keep her ignorant of our intent, so that she cannot tell what she know not" .
