When I stand up for myself and my beliefs, they call me a bitch. When I speak my mind and do things my own way, they call me a bitch. When I take time for myself instead of being everyone's maid, they call me a bitch. When I am not someone's idea of what they think I "should" be, I am also considered a bitch. Different people have different understandings of the word bitch. .
Everyone has met one. What is a bitch? Today a bitch can have a lot of different meanings. The meaning of the word is defined by the context and tone with which it is spoken. The word bitch is used as a noun or as a verb. Depending on the part of speech, bitch is either negative or neutral. We give labels to people's attitudes, personalities or even by their dress code. It has been shown that most stereotypes are negative ones and furthermore are geared towards woman. There are more swear words directed to females than males.
A bitch is defined in the Oxford dictionary as a female canine animal, especially a dog. Most teenagers my age use it to mean different things though. I use the word bitch when I get offended by people or things "you are such a bitch", "that test was a bitch". I also use the word bitch for a girl who messes around with guys. Basically someone who is a slut. Since different people have different opinions in what and who a bitch is, I asked a few friends and random people.
