Working title: Potential Effects of Coco Methyl Ester for Tricycle in Barangay Bahay Toro .
Introduction: In the last decade, there has been rapid deterioration in air quality especially in the urban areas of the Philippines including Metro Manila. Air pollution is caused by industries, power plants and by our land transportation.
One popular transportation here in the Philippines is the tricycle. Not only because it is very cheap also it is almost in every secondary street. There is almost a million tricycle franchises all over the country and 120,00 of it is in Metro Manila. These tricycles are either 2-stroke or 4-stroke engines but most are 2-stroke. The large and increasing number of 2-stroke is very alarming because of its inefficient combustion. Exhausts coming from the motorcycle contain particulate that can causes serious health problems including heart disease, chronic respiratory disease and premature mortality.

In response to this worsening problem some government agencies, civic groups, private sectors and transport organizations had come up together to promote the use of Coco diesel as alternative fuel to 2T based oils.

Definition of concepts and Variables:.
1. Stroke- the action of a piston travelling the full length in the cylinder.
2. Coco Methyl Ester- A fuel that is a mixture of coconut oil and methanol. Repels insects, does not produce acrolein and does not solidify easily because of the fact that its solidify point is 10 C or below.
