But I do have a few friends and associates who contact me in order to get a different perspective on their own life issues. Sometimes this creates a time problem, since they frequently want to homestead on my telephone, and I just want to get back to my computer tasks.
And finally, the skills that I posses that will help in my learning team are quite varied. Most importantly I must temper my desire to take charge at all times where others are hesitant. I have the ability to encourage them to stand up and speak by example and then by challenge. In meetings I will not always lead, but will facilitate to assure that everyone has a chance to participate. I also have to the ability to provide them with all of the technical advice they could ever need in order to get them through this course. I have subscribed to the Yahoo Groups site and introduced them to online collaborative networking. We now have the ability to access a shared calendar, chat, database, access to shared documents, and most importantly access to group email accounts of our own all accessible via the web. No matter what my personal strengths are, there is always room for improvement.
In my line of business, my success is based on my ability to write effective proposals that are brief and to the point, making and committing to appointments, interviewing and problem identification, and finally, accomplishing complex tasks to resolve problems. As an added benefit, I produce a report that recommends preventive measures to reduce the total cost of ownership of their assets. As for the areas of improvement, I am aware I need to work smarter. It would be nice to hire someone to assist in my data management. I need to build my knowledge base server prototype to offer as an alternative for decision makers, versus hiring additional staff to maintain document control. I also need to delegate some of my small projects to more of my students and or associates.
