The Bible was created to inspire people to live as Jesus did and as God would want them. The Bible teaches us lessons about life and we are supposed to carry these lessons and values out in our own life. For example, when one person wants another to do something for them, that person often tries to inspire the other person to do that action. This person does this, either through inspiring speeches, bargaining, or telling the other person some sort of story that will make him or her feel like it is the right thing to do. The Bible itself is a source of inspiration to most people who read it through its parables, stories, and prophecies.
Many of the parables that Jesus told throughout his lifetime were meant to inspire people to live with values that God would want them to have. Parables that Jesus told, still today, are inspirational to people who read them. Jesus told parables to groups of people who would question Jesus and his teachings. Parables were a story that Jesus would tell that had a much deeper meaning then just the story itself. An example of an inspirational parable is the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant, Matthew 18:23-35. In this parable, a man who owes a great deal of money to his master is forgiven because he did not meet the deadline for the money. This man then goes to one of his servants, who owed him a much smaller amount of money, and throws him in jail until he pays the money. The master hears about this and scolds the man for not forgiving his servant as he, himself, had done for the man. He then tortures the man until he can pay the money. This parable is inspirational because it inspires people in their daily life to forgive people, because if they don't, they may not be forgiven themselves.
Stories of Jesus, the Israelites, and many other great people are some of the most inspirational pieces ever written. One thing that makes these stories so inspirational is that many of them are true and occur to regular human beings like us.
