titanic

When the safe is located, it is learned that the diamond is not inside, and the motion picture then switches scenes, showing the Titanic docked in it's slip, just days before it's departure. .
Kate Winslet's character, Rose, comes from a wealthy family and is expected to marry a man of equal wealth. Leonardo DiCaprio, who portrays a young American artist named Jack, plays the male lead. Jack, although not at all wealthy, wins Rose's heart with his bravery, courage, and good looks. Jack earned his ticket for the maiden voyage by wining a poker game, which helps to show the contrast between the wealthy and powerful passengers and those similar to Jack. .
Unhappy and restless, Rose meets Jack when she is on the verge of committing suicide. Rose is upset and depressed about her arranged wedding to a wealthy bachelor named Cal. Rose has no intentions of marrying Cal, however her mother is forcing her to go against her will. Cal is a rich brat who treats Rose as an odalisque, and by no means does he treat her in a way that a man should treat his wife. Cal lacks everything that Jack has, except for one thing, money. .
The movie climaxes as the mighty Titanic strikes an even mightier glacier. As soon as word spreads of the disaster that had occurred, chaos and disorganization breaks out. The boat that was made to be unsinkable was quickly submerging, during which Rose and Jack lose one another. Jack finds Rose when her mother is trying to get her onto a lifeboat. It becomes evident to Jack that he is not wealthy, and there are not enough lifeboats for everyone. Women and children from first class are allowed into the lifeboats first, and the remainder of the boats go to the first class men. Jack convinces Rose to stay on the ship with him, reassuring her that everything will be alright as long as they stay together. .
Rose tells her mother to go on the boat without her, and she stays behind with Jack.
